Newsflash! Trading FX is not an easy way to make a living! It isn’t even an easy way to hang on to your capital!
Why would anyone tell you the secret of making money in the financial markets? If there was a secret, a magic formula or FX alchemy, it would certainly be harder to find than simply typing “how to make money trading FX” into a Google search.
At FXPIG we ARE different! Each PIG owns a part of the “knowledge cake” but none of us has it all. We can provide all the tools you need but it is the client himself who must decide the how what when and why of his strategy.
Unbiased access to usable information is as close that we can get to providing guidance. There are numerous seminars courses, signal providers, EA’s and robots but particularly for a newcomer, understanding needs to be built. Why do markets move? Find out for yourself; study, read, use a dummy account but please, please, stay out of the hands of the “get rich quick” brigade who will hinder more that help any novice trader’s progress. Learn, verify. Learn some more, verify some more. It is the only way. When looking for a broker, trust is far more important than gimmicks or bonuses!
Who am I talking to?
Trading is a never-ending journey! I have been involved in FX more than twenty-five years but (even) I find that every day is a school day. But and it’s a big but, the knowledge base needed to sell FX product to retail traders is diminishing almost daily.
That is a counter-intuitive statement I know but when you start the journey to becoming a successful trader there will be any number of calls, emails and other communications from “sales traders” at brokerages where they treat the whole exercise as a numbers game. Low pay and very high bonus structures lead confident young people into operations where they are given supposed leads to contact, up to 200 per day in some cases. Where did they get your name and or contact details? How did they know you were considering FX trading? The wonders of the web and the software that has been developed to filter your activity, clicks and searches.
When this guy calls you, take his name before hanging up and search him (or her) on a professional social media site. He will have either had, at least, four similar jobs to the one from which he is calling you or will have been some kind of sales assistant in a retailer. This is a sweeping generalization but you get the picture. Were you crazy enough to provide him with any encouragement, you would then be part of the system receiving ever more strident calls offering free this and that in exchange for a signup.
There is, of course, a better way!
Why believe me, couldn’t I just be another of the ex-washing machine salesmen? Well the first thing to do is read back through the “Mr Markets” posts on this site and you will see that I do have the experience, then contact one of my colleagues through the site and be impressed by the whole new experience of being treated as a valued client by a salesman who will take you through everything from A-Z and provide a degree of trust that has become rare in this business.
I have used an image before of a nerd sitting in his parent’s basement poring over charts, data and his own algorithm scratching his head as another trade heads south. The reality of dealing with FXPIG is that we are your PARTNER, not simply your broker. Clients to us are there to be cherished and nurtured not treated as simply another number on a whiteboard in an anonymous office full of 21 years old’s desperate to make another sale.
When asked “what have you got to lose” remember this word from someone who has (not yet) seen it all.
