WAIT... What Is a MANAGED FOREX ACCOUNT?

According to Investopedia™ a Managed Forex Account is: an investment account that is owned by an individual investor and overseen by a hired professional money manager. Not too shabby Investopedia™, not too shabby. PIGs are, however, known to be notoriously meticulous, so let us just add that; similar to the ridiculous misuse of terms such as ECN, STP, and DMA in the wonderfully obscure world of Retail FX, many similar acronyms are also used incorrectly when it comes to Managed Forex Accounts. Here is what you need to know...

PIGs are SMART, get over it.
MAM refers to a piece of Software that Allows Managers to Trade on multiple individual client accounts.
LAMM or Lot Allocation Management Module: all accounts, regardless of their equity, share the same portion of each executed trade
PAMM or Percentage Allocation Management Module: all accounts share a portion of each trade, based on their own account's equity

So, in conclusion; a MAM is not a PAMM, a PAMM is not always a MAM, and while a LAMM can be a MAM, it is NEVER a PAMM. Did we mention that us PIGs are avid Dr. Seuss fans? Please make a note for future reference. And if you still need some help with your Forex Acronyms, we are here to help.
